La Niñja: Amor and Other Dreams of Manzanita is an album of remixes of tracks from Mia’s previous album Manzanita. The standout track is the remix of “My Room is White” by Flying Lotus, his first release which defined his fresh style and hinted at so much good music to come.

For the artwork of La Niñja: Amor and Other Dreams of Manzanita, Mia drew herself in the desert landscape like the environment around Tule Lake, the Japanese American internment camp where her mother’s family was interned during World War II. Befitting a remix album, the artist duo Kozyndan remixed Mia’s original drawing, adding the protozoa and sea creatures that would have been present in that landscape millennia before.
